England To Win The Ashes But Not Attractive Odds

Seems like all the bookies agree, England are heavy faves to take the Ashes home series. The odds are pretty lame though, Betfred are top price 4/9 at the moment with Victor Chandler, Paddy Power and Ladbrokes coming in at 4/11.

At those prices we should be looking for a different angle to get a more attractive bet at better odds. Markets like series highest run scorer (definitely Cook or Trott) or wicket taker (Jimmy Anderson) make more appeal. I would not be betting at such heavy odds against prices right at the start of the series. Agreed England should win but anything can happen including crap weather and a drawn series!

Yes! Today I checked my bank statement and saw my payout from Betfred has been processed, that's a 4 figure return for my accumulator bet on the Confederations Cup. Correctly predicted the finalists (easy enough) and also the 3rd place winner (not so easy). Nice winnings and happy days!
